Hauser, Bernadette A. (16 AUG 1935 - 2 MAY 2014)

Bernadette A. Hauser age 78, of Unity, passed away Friday, May 2, 2014 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. Father Dan Hackel will officiate. A visitation will be held Saturday, May 10 from 9:00 AM until the time of services at the church. The VFW Auxiliary Post 2227 will be holding a memorial service at 9:15 AM. Burial will follow the service at Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Colby.

Bernadette was born August 16, 1935 in Colby, the daughter of Albert and Hedwig (Kaiser) Engeldinger. She graduated from Colby High School in 1953.

Bernadette was united in marriage to James Hauser on June 30, 1955 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. They shared more than 57 years together in marriage.

Bernadette is survived by her eight children: Bryan (Kathy) Hauser of Merrill, Gayle (Robert) Specht of Marshfield, Bruce Hauser of Wausau, Amy Duerr of Unity, Scott (Nancy Mateer) Hauser of Colby, Wendy (Jim) Wilt of Cumberland, Joel (Heather) Hauser of Zumbrota, MN, Todd (Heather Kind-Keppel) Hauser of Kenosha, 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother, Arnold (Alice) Engeldinger of Wisconsin Rapids; two sisters-in-law, Beverly (John) Dittner of Marshfield and Josephine Engeldinger of Addison, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James; a daughter, Theresa; and a brother, Arthur Engeldinger.

In lieu of flowers, Bernadette's family has asked memorials be given to Monsignor Malik's Education Fund at Saint Mary's in Colby.

The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Colby is entrusted with the arrangements.
