Jens, Edna (7 May 1895 - 8 May 1972)

Word has been received here Monday of unexpected death of Mrs. Edna Jens, 77, of Plymouth, who was found dead in her home Monday morning. Mrs. Jens, who lived alone, was discovered sitting in a chair.

Survivors in this area include two brothers, Raymond and Leo Sternitzky of Lynn; and two sisters, Mrs. Robert Ure of Lynn and Mrs. Frieda Johnson of Chili.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jens are to be held Friday from a Lutheran Church at Plymouth.

Mrs. Edna Jens, 77, of Plymouth, widow of Carl Jens, died May 8 at her home following an apparent heart attack.

The former Edna Sternitzky was born May 7, 1895, in Lynn, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Sternitzky. She was married to Mr. Jens on July 30, 1919, in Granton Lutheran Church. They farmed until 1938 when they moved to Plymouth. Mr. Jens died in 1964. Mrs. Jens was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and its Bible class.

Survivors include two brothers, Leo and Raymond Sternitzky of Lynn, and two sisters, Mrs. Robert Ure of Lynn and Mrs. Freida Johnson of Chili.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. last Friday from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plymouth. The Rev. Robert Werdy associate pastor officiated. Burial was made in the Plymouth Union Cemetery.

Among those who attended were: Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Opelt, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Lautenbach, Levis, Mr. and Mrs. Max Opelt, Mrs. Elsie Sternitzky, Granton, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Martin, Corvallis, Or; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ure and Murial, Lynn, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Reveling, Auburndale, Mrs. Frieda Johnson, Chili, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Sternitzky and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Sternitzky., Lynn.
