Keller, William Frederick (1 August 1888 - 5 May 1972)

Funeral services for William Frederick Keller, 83, of Whitehall, who died there May 5, were held Tuesday, May 9, at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Clark of the Whitehall United Methodist Church officiated and burial was made made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Services were also held Sunday afternoon in the Johnson Funeral Chapel, in Whitehall.

William Keller, the son of Fred and Mary (Beahm) Keller, was born August 1, 1888 at Princeton. His marriage took Mabel Palmer took place November 5, 19333, in Neillsville. The Kellers farmed on the River Road near Neillsville before moving to Tomah where they operated an A & W drive-in. They lived in La Crosse and in Whitehall in later years.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three children, Gerald Palmer of Lebanon, Mo, Wayne Palmer of Whitehall, and Miss Jessie Palmer of Albuquerque, N. M.; and ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters, Mrs. Rose Zembro of Delta, Co, Mrs. Minnie Schmidt, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl, and Mrs. Viv (Emma) White and Miss Clara Keller of Milwaukee; and by five brothers, Albert and Henry Keller of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. Walter Keller of Santa Barbara, Ca, Paul Keller of Black River Falls and Herbert Keller of Neillsville.

Pallbearers were: Charles Marden, Harold Milbreit, Henry Stiemke, Leo Pflughoeft, Carl Kessler and Tom Yndogliato. “Nearer My God to Thee” and “Just as I Am,” were sung by Miss Mary Peters who was accompanied by Mrs. Robert Peters.

Those from out of town who attended the services included Mr. and Mrs. V. L. White and Miss Clara Keller of Milwaukee, Mrs. Mabel Keller and Mrs. Gary Clark of Whitehall, Miss Jessie Palmer of Albuquerque, N. M., Gerald Palmer of Lebanon, Mo, Miss Alice Palmer of Moorhead, Mn, and J. Bradley Gukey of Merrillan.
