------ Wepfer, Mrs. William (Mabel) (06 JUL 1877 – 10 JUL 1965)
Mrs. William (Mabel) Wepfer, 87, Colby, died at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 10, at a Decatur, Ill., hospital following a series of strokes. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Hansen Chapel in Marshfield. Forrest McPherson and Charles Mattison officiated, and burial was made at the Colby Memorial cemetery.
Mrs. Wepfer, the former Mabel Gray, was born in Marshfield July 6, 1877, and received her education there. Her marriage to William Wepfer occurred Dec. 20, 1899, at Marshfield, with Rev. L. Th. Thom officiating.
In 1902 the couple moved to Stevens Point and two years later returned to Marshfield. In 1909 they moved to a farm west of Colby, where they lived until 1945 when they moved to the city of Colby. Following Mr. Wepfer’s death Mar. 23, 1960, Mrs. Wepfer had made her home with her daughters.
She was a member of the Christian church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, her husband, a son and a daughter. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Altine) Stoltzman, Marshfield, Mrs. Harold (Maydell) Brockhaus, Colby, and Mrs. Delbert (Goldie) Klepzig, Decatur Ill; Two sisters, Mrs. Ray McDonald and Mrs. Morriss Ross, Marshfield; and eight grand children and nine great grand children, other relatives and a host of friends.
