Mr. Lester R. Butterfield and Miss Bertha E. Schnell of Reseburg (Clark Co.,
Wis.) were united in the bonds of holy matrimony, Wednesday, June 14, 1933 at
3:00 p.m. at the Reseburg Congregational Church by Rev. W.P. Powell of Owen.
The bride was attired in a dress of white silk crepe back satin and wore a long
trailing veil with a tight fitting cap. She carried a large bouquet of pink and
white roses.
The bride was attended by her two sisters, the Misses Phoebe and Beulah Schnell.
Phoebe wore a dress of pink silk flat crepe with a yoke of white all over lace.
Beulah wore a dress of pink organdy. Both carried a bouquet of mixed pink and
white flowers. Violet Schnell, sister of the bride, was flower girl and was
dressed in white organdy and carried a basket of sweet peas.
The groom wore a brown suit and was attended by his two brothers, Roscoe and
Claude. Roscoe wore a blue suit and Claude a brown one.
The church was luxuriously decorated with flowers and ferns by the "I Come"
class of the Reseburg Congregational Sunday School, of which both the bride and
groom are faithful members.
Miss Grace Marshall played the wedding march as the bridal party marched to the
altar. The ushers were Kenneth Bobb and Donald Marshall.
After the ceremony the bridal party and guests journeyed to the home of the
groom's parents, where a bountiful supper was served.
The dining room was decorated with pink, blue, and white streamers of crepe
paper, while the tables glowed with bouquets and huckleberry vines. The bride's
table was also decorated with pink crepe paper.
Ivan Shores acted as usher in seating of guests at the tables. The table waiters
were the Misses Ruby Bobb, Grace Marshall, Roxy Coates, Crystal Roix, Edna
Fountain, Hazel Cornwall, Irene Bobb, Marjorie Marshall, Carrie Rae Briggs and
Mrs. Bernice Zell.
Those from away who attended the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schnell and
son, Miss Irene Schnell, Kendall, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. La Vern Zell, Glen Flora;
Floyd Butterfield, Stanley, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Zell….(rest of article missing)
