Kalsow, Lebrecht W. (7 March 1884 - 19 May 1972)
Funeral services for Lebrecht W. Kalsow, 88 of Neillsville, who died May 19,
were held Monday, May 22, at 1:30 p.m. from Immanuel Lutheran Church at Globe
with the Rev. Robert Bitter officiating. Interment was in the Neillsville City
Cemetery. The Georgas Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Lebrecht Kalsow, the son of Frederick and Amelia (Klueckmann) Kalsow, was born
March 7, 1884, in the Town of Weston. He attended rural schools and also St.
John’s Parochial School. His marriage to the former Ida Mallig took place
October 10, 1906, at Globe. The Kalsows farmed in the Town of Weston until 1945
when they retired. They continued to live on the farm until 1960 when they moved
to the Globe store apartments. The couple moved to their home in Neillsville in
1964. Mr. Kalsow was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and served for several
terms on the church board.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include one son, Roland Kalsow of
Neillsville; one sister, Mrs. Martha Grap of Neillsville; and five grandchildren
and four great-grandchildren.
