Keuer, Laura (6 August 1884 - 14 May 1972)
Funeral services for Mrs, Laura Keuer, 87m of Granton who died May 14 at
Neillsville, were held Wednesday, May 17, at 2 p.m. from Zion American Lutheran
Church in the Town of Grant. The Rev. Daniel Litzer of Neillsville officiated
and burial was made in the church cemetery. The Gilbertson Funeral Home as in
charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Keuer, the former Laura Wiesner, was born August 6, 1884, in the Town of
Lynn and was educated there. Her marriage took place October 15, 1903, in the
Town of Grant. The couple farmed in the Town of Lynn until his death in 1942,
after which Mrs. Keuer moved to Granton. She was a member of Zion American
Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three sons, Leslie of Neillsville, Herbert of Marshfield and
Ray of Granton; two daughters, Mrs. Adolph (Edna) Zalabsky and Mrs. Jerry
(Arlene) Zalabsky, both of Pittsville; a sister, Mrs. Ottellia Gamache of
Oshkosh; and seven grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Arnold Nitschke, Leland Bass, Louis Breseman, Oscar Krause,
Alvin Krause, and William Young. Soloist Martin Hillert sang “I am but a
Stranger here.” “Abide with me” was sung by the congregation. Mrs. Lee Garbisch
was the organist.
