Olson, Dale C. (8 JUL 1937 - 6 MAY 2014)
Dale C. Olson 76, town of Holway, died on Tuesday, May 6 at his home, while
under the care of his family and hospice. Funeral services will be held on
Friday, May 9 at 11 a.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in the town of Holway,
with Pastor Kris Bjerke-Ulliman, and Pastor Lynne Pahl of Grace Communion
International Church of Wausau, officiating.
Interment will be at his homestead in the town of Holway. Active pallbearers are
Robert "Lee" Koplin, Scott, Deron and Todd Olson, and Dennis and David Lavin.
Honorary pallbearers are Raymond Wehe, Gary Maldonis, and Curt and Jim Olson.
Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of
service.
Hemer Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake
assisted the family with arrangements.
Dale Olson was born on July 8, 1937 in the town of Holway to the late Gilbert
and Anna (Larson) Olson. He attended elementary school in the town of Holway and
was a 1955 graduate of Medford High School.
On October 7, 1974 in Waukegan, Ill., he married Barbara "Barb" Schrock, who
survives. He farmed in the town of Holway for many years until 1988. While
farming he also drove school bus for 40 years.
He was a member of Grace Communion International Church. He enjoyed music,
playing guitar, cards, fishing, playing softball, tinkering with small engines
and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three children, Allen (Joanna) Olson
of Medford, Chad (Jennifer) Olson of Stetsonville and Sarah (Joe) Serrano of
Dorchester; three siblings Robert "Bob" (Marriane) Olson of Washington, and
Joanne "Jo" Lavin and Gerald "Jerry" Olson, both of the town of Holway; and six
grandchildren, Jaylin, Caleb, Ryleigh and Karsten Olson, and Joseph and Mya
Seranno.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Galen,
Gene, Grover and Carl Olson, and Ruth Koplin.
