Pink and white gladiolas and carnations were on the altar of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Thorp, for the marriage of Ruth Esther Reinke and Kenneth Frank Churkey, on Saturday, Aug. 6, 1966, with Rev. Robert Olson officiating the double ring ceremony at 2:30 p.m.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. Reinke of Thorp and Mr. Charles D. Churkey, Withee, Mrs. Emery Sorenson, Owen.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length bridal gown, featuring long tapered sleeves and Sabrina neckline.

A detachable Watteau highlighted the bouffant skirt of organza.

A bouffant veil was attached to a crown of sequins and pearls highlighting the bridal gown. She carried a bouquet of pink orchids and white carnations, stephanotis and ivy.

Mrs. Pierce Owens Jr., sister of the bride, was matron of honor, accompanied by Mrs. Scott Mason, sister of the bride, Miss Suzie Wagner, friend of the bride, Mrs. Maynard Purgett, friend of the couple, and Miss Vicki Reinke, niece of the bride, as bridesmaids. The bridesmaids attire consisted of floor length dresses of peau taffeta in pink and candy, fashioned with elbow length sleeves and a contrasting midriff. A fabric rose accented the back of the semi-bouffant skirt.

Bustle veil in pink attached to a petal clocke completed their attire. They carried bouqeuts of pink and candy miniature carnations.

The miniature bride, Miss June Owens, wore a floor length gown of peau taffeta in white. A Watteau highlighted the semi-fullness of the gown.

Her crown of entwined pearls held her blush veil. She carried a bouquet similar to the bride's.

Harvey Churkey, brother of the groom was best man. Those accompanying him as groomsmen were Bud Reinke, brother of the bride, Mr. Maynard Purgett, friend of the groom, and Scott Rusch, friend of the couple.

The reception was held at the Thorpedo restaurant and later a lunch was served at the Thorp Legion Hall.

The bride is a graduate of Thorp High School. The groom is a graduate of Owen-Withee High School and now is employed as lead man at Spencer Sports Products, Spencer, Wis. He is also a member of the Abbotsford National Guard Unit.

After a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, the couple will reside in spencer, Wis.

Out of town guests were from Keswick, Iowa, Oshkosh, Wis., St. Paul, Minn., Red Wing, Minn., Kaukauna, Marshfield, Neillsville, Phillips, Chippewa Falls, Milwaukee and Greenwood, Wis.
