Bender, Elmer (21 April 1898 - 17 June 1968)
Elmer Bender, 70, route 2, Loyal, died at 5 a.m. Monday, June 17, at St.
Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
Services were held Thursday, June 20, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal, with
the Rev. A. M. Moldenhauer, officiating. Burial was made in the Windfall
cemetery at Granton.
Mrs. Ervin Dux and Mrs. Erwin Noeldrer accompanied at the organ by Mrs. John A.
Olsen, sang "The Old Rugged Cross," and "Beyond The Sunset."
Palbearers were Hillis Kadolph, George Schillinger, Henry Lemke, Alvin Lavene,
Hugh Darton , and Edward Schlinsog
The Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Bender was born April 21, 1898 in Richfield County. March 29. 1921 he
married Agnes Hoimbach, at Granton.
After their marriage the couple farmed at Granton until 1944, when they moved to
Loyal.
Mr. Bender was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Loyal.
In addition to his wife, survivors are two sons. Merlin and Roger, Loyal; a
daughter, Mrs. Louis (Joan) Leon, Santa Clara, California; three brothers,
Floyd, Grass Valley, California; David, Neillsville; and Bernard, Manitowoc; a
sister, Mrs. Essie Martin, Richland Center.
He was preceded in death by a son and a brother.
