Lund, Mahlon (7 July 1885 - 12 June 1972)
Mahlon Lund, 86, died June 12 at the Jackson Count Home in Black River Falls,
where he had lived the last few years. Funeral services were conducted Friday,
June 16, from the Assembly of God Church in Black River Falls, with the Rev.
Gordon Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery at Black River
Falls beside his wife, Ila, who died 12 years ago.
Mr. Lund was born in Jackson County in the Wrightsville area, July 7 1885. He
was a retired railroad employee, section foreman for several years. He was
married to Ila Washburn of Humbird and they made their home in Black River Falls
for a few years, later moving to Humbird. They were members of the United
Methodist Church. After his retirement he devoted his time to a fine garden with
many beautiful flowers.
He is survived by a son, Mahlon, Jr., of Muncie Pa.; a brother, Matt Lund of
Philomath, Or.; four sisters, Mrs. Sena Hauge of Black River Falls, Mrs. Stanley
Dettinger of York, Mrs. Halvor Nygaard and Mrs. Louise Kvern of Madison; and
three grandchildren.
