Miss Lila Kay Conklin became the bride of George Gerald Reed, Saturday, Sept. 17th, 1966 at St. Bernard's Catholic, Church, Thorp. The High Mass was said by Father Brockman at ten a.m.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Jack Conklin, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Mr. and Mrs. George J. Reed, Hurley.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a bone white floor length dress with a jeweled bateau neckline and cap sleeves.. Lace covered the bodice and extended in petals down the skirt. A pearl crown topped with jewels held her elbow length veil and surrounded by carnations and she carried a gold throated orchid streamed with ivy.

Judith Kesler, sister of the bride, was matron of honor, and bridesmaids were Connie Conklin, also a sister of the bride. They wore cotillion blue floor length dresses with bateau necklines on the lace bodice. A taffeta panel accented the skirt's front and the back was completed by a Watteau effect taffeta panel with a bow. Their veiled blue crown headpieces were accented by pearls and each carried a bouquet of white carnations and pink roses.

Ann Marie Reed and Donald Reed, nice and nephew of the groom, were flower girl and ring bearer, respectively.

Dean Gustafson, friend of the groom, was best man, and groomsman was James Allera, also a friend of the groom. Ushers were Edward Irish and Joe Waichulas.

A dinner for 50 guests was held at the Thorpedo restaurant and a reception followed at the bride's home.

The bride, a graduate of Thorp High School, was employed at Thorp Finance, and the groom, a graduate of Hurley High School, is with Metropolitan Insurance.

After a wedding trip to Canada, they will make their home at Hurley, Wis.
