Sheriff Sheldon was up on legal business Thursday.

C. M. Campbell transacted business at the County Seat last Wednesday.

Carrie Heath of Heathville, was the guest of Lillie Warner Sunday.

The M. E. Church lot at the Center received special attention the past week and is fenced and partly seeded.

Camp meeting is well attended and will no doubt be a success.

A few days ago while Mrs. Jennie Palmer was getting dinner she stepped into the pantry to get something and happened to step on something soft. Her surprise and horror can better be imagined then described when she discovered she was standing on a spotted adder about two feet long. She called her husband but before he got there the snake had escaped. Nothing was seen of it until the next day when hearing a strange noise among the chickens Mrs. Palmer stepped to the door to see what the matter was and discovered the snake. Mr. Palmer soon had the reptile sleeping his last sleep.
