Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Christie United Methodist Church, for Mrs. Ethel Boon, age 82, of Rt. 1 Greenwood, who died February 18,1969 in Neillsville, Wis. The Rev. Carl Booher will officiate. Burial will be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Boon, the former Ethel Brown, was born April 2, 1886, in Clark County. She attended county schools and lived most of her life in the town of Weston. In the summers she worked as a cook for men in the harvest fields in North Dakota.
Mrs. Boon was married January 28, 1916, to Leonard Boon. Following their marriage they farmed in the town of Weston. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Christie and it’s Ladies Aid.
She is survived, by five children, Alfred and Clayton Boon, of Rt.1, Greenwood, Mrs. Ray (Dorothy) Oldham, of Rt.2 Neillsville, Floyd Boon, of Rt. 1, Greenwood, and Mrs. Fred (Florence) Zais, of Eau Claire. Other survivors include 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
