Louis B. Edwards, 81, Flanagan, Ill., died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 1996, at St. James Hospital, Pontiac, Ill. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, 1996, at Flanagan United Methodist Church, Flanagan, Ill. Rev. Brad Brault officiated. Interment will be at a later date.
Louis B. Edwards was born on Nov. 10, 1915, in Mt. Pulaski, Ill., to Elmer E. and Lulu (nee Gulso) Edwards. He married Ruby Afkend on April 5, 1943, in Clovis, New Mexico. She survives. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the Army Air Force. He was self-employed electrician. He was a member of the Flanagan United Methodist Church and Flanagan American Legion Post #456.
Survivors include his wife; Rudy Edwards, Flanagan, Ill.; one daughter, Shirley (Bill) Ledford, Pontiac, Ill.; two sons, Steve (Gail) Edwards, Lockport, Ill.; and John Edwards, Elgin, Ill.; one brother, Hershel (Florence) Edwards, Milwaukee; two sisters, Mrs. Louella Molle, Unity, and Dorthaleen (Harold) Hardarth, Owen; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Froelich memorial Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
