DeYoung, Katherine (26 OCT 1932)
Miss Katherine DeYoung, Loyal, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry DeYoung, New London, became the bride of Bernard Davel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Davel, also of Loyal at a ceremony which was solemnized Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock by Father Anthony Aurit in St. Anthony’s Catholic church, Loyal.
Miss Gertrude Bichler served as maid of honor and miss Catherine Davel, cousin of the groom, as bridesmaid. The groom was attended by Alexander Davel and Ed. Miller, the latter of Marshfield.
The bride wore white satin with an embroidered lace veil arranged in cap effect and held in place by orange blossoms. White slippers, white accessories and a shower bouquet of roses and carnations completed her costume. Miss Bichler was dressed in egg shell blue crepe trimmed with white, and Miss Davel wore light green organdy. Both wore rhinestone head bands and carried colonial bouquets of pink and white carnations.
Following the ceremony dinner was served for relatives and immediate friends at the home of the brides grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Clematson.
The bride is a graduate of the New London High School.
The groom is in the dairy business here, operating a milk route in this Village. Mr. and Mrs. Davel will go to housekeeping on the groom’s farm on the east limits of this Village.
