TWO SONS IN SERVICE
Two sons of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hardrath, Unity, route 1, are serving in the United States Army and one of them, Staff Sgt. Howard, 26 (left) recently arrived in England. Sgt. Hardrath, formerly a farmer, enlisted June 10, 1942, in the infantry, and trained at Camp Pickett, Va., Dayton Beach, Fla., and Camp Phillips, Kan. He was home on furlough at New Year’s. His brother, Cpl. Harold, 28, (right) a former, cheesemaker at the Harry Mandel Factory, was the first man drafted from Unity. He entered the Army on march 10, 1941, trained at Fort Sill, Okla., was at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., for 2 ½ years, and then went to Fort Bragg, N. C., where he is serving with a heavy artillery unit.
