PORTAGE — Clement "Clem" L. Heinzel, age 66, of Portage, died Tuesday, January 9, 1996 at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage. Clement Louis Heinzel was born on February 14, 1929 in Catawba, Wisconsin to Clement and Mae (Pries) Heinzel. He served his country as a member of the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. Mr. Heinzel was the former owner of the Cottonwood and Kourthause Taverns in Portage.

He was a member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge #675 in Portage and the American Legion Richard W. Mulcahy Post #47 in Portage. He is survived by three sons, Robert (Nancy) Heinzel of Lodi, Gary Heinzel of Milwaukee and Randal Heinzel of Portage; a granddaughter, Katharine Heinzel; his former wife, June Heinzel of Arlington; and other relatives and friends. Mr. Heinzel was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 1996 at 10:30 a.m. from Port Axtell Funeral Home in Portage. Reverend Alan Boeck will officiate.
Burial will be at Silver Lake Cemetery, Portage. Friends may call at the Port-Axtell Funeral Home in Portage on Friday, January 12, 1996 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral services.
