Schraufnagle, Henry (2 JUL 1852 - 14 MAR 1895)

Died, at his home in the town of Hull, Marathon Co., Wis., on Thursday, March 14th, 1895, of congestion of the lungs, Henry Schraufnagle, in the 43rd year of his age.

Mr. Schraufnagle was born in Germany, July 2nd, 1852, and came to this country in 1854, when two years old, with his parents, who settled in the town of Leroy, Dodge Co., Wis. In 1876 he was united in marriage with Miss Mary Weix, and in 1879 came to Colby, settling on a farm in the northern part of the town of Hull, where he has since resided.

Henry was a man highly respected by his neighbors and acquaintances for his rigidly honest and upright ways, and all who knew him will regret his death and deeply sympathize with the bereaved family.

His married life resulted in a family of 8 children, 6 sons, the oldest 18 years, and two daughters, all of whom survive to mourn the loss of a loving father.

The funeral occurred on Monday at St. Kilian’s Church, and the remains were interred in the Catholic Cemetery, Rev. C. B. Weikmann officiating.
