Cook, Jennie (? - SEP 1895)

Neenah Gazette

"Neenah, Wis. has been more than ordinarily afflicted the past month with deaths of prominent and well known residents. The shadow of the angle of death has hovered over households little dreaming of the Presence, until it has become a query where and who will be the next. This morning came the sad announcement from M. S. A. Cook, at Aurora, Ontario, that at 4 a.m., Mrs. Cook passed peacefully away, fell calmly into that slumber which knows no waking. It is sad news to the relatives of this lovely woman; sad news to all who ever came under her Christian, benevolent influence. Words are but weak sympathy for the bereaved one under such a loss, the loss of a true, noble Christian woman, whose great happiness always seemed to be in making others happy. Deceased was formerly Miss Jennie Christie of Stockbridge, in Calumet Co. She was married to S. A. Cook in 1876, and came to Neenah in 1881. She leaves a husband and two children, Maud and Harry. Her age was 44 years. The remains will be brought here for burial."

Mrs. Cook lived for a number of years at Unity, Wis., where she made many fast friends. She was one of those kind, even tempered women who make friends under any and all circumstances. There are many friends of the family at Unity and this place (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.) who will deeply mourn and sympathize with the bereaved ones in this their great affliction.
