Sommer, Carl (12 MAY 1817 - 20 MAR 1896)

Died, at the home of his son, in the town of Hull, Marathon Co., Wis., on Friday the 20th, inst., Carl Traugott Sommer, in the 79th year of his age.

Mr. Sommer was born in Obershoenfeld, Prussia, May 12th, 1817. He came to this country in 1886, returned to Germany in 1889, and came here again in 1894. He was the father of ten children, four of whom are living, a son, Herman Sommer, and a daughter, Mrs. Pauline Buchholz, in the town of Hull, and two daughters in the old country. The funeral occurred Sunday at St. John’s Evangelical Church, Rev. Conrad C. Hartenstein officiating.
