McGrath, Mary (Apr 1830 - 4 MAY 1896)

Died, at the home of her son, Chairman McGrath, in the town of Colby, Clark Co., Wis., at midnight of Monday, May 4th, 1896, Mrs. Mary McGrath, aged 66 years.

Mrs. McGrath was born at Kilrush, County Clare, Ireland, in April 1830, and was there married. She came with her husband to America in 1848, and settled in Canada, where they continued to reside until 1873 when they came to the United States and directly to the town of Colby, where she has made her home to this time, her husband having preceded her to that other shore about 12 years, or in June 1884. She was the mother of 11 children, 5 sons and 6 daughters, 7 of whom are still living.

The funeral occurred yesterday at 10 o’clock A.M., at the home, and the remains interred in the family lot in the cemetery at Unity, Rev. A.J. Capellen officiating.
