Williams, Deak (22 Dec. 1894 - 14 Aug. 1989)

Deak Williams, age 94, died Monday, August 14, 1989 at the Osseo Area Nursing Home. He was born in rural Strum on December 22, 1894. He served his country in France during WWI.

He first married Viola (Oldham) Wedding and they lived on a small farm between Osseo and Strum. He was a road contractor in addition to farming. After he quit building roads, he became a livestock dealer. Viola died on September 1, 1969.

He next married Margaret Whipple on November 4, 1970, and they resided in Osseo until her death on August 31, 1976.

He then moved to Nelson and married Rhea Radle on July 19, 1979. They lived in Nelson until November of 1986, when they moved to Osseo because of failing health. They entered the Osseo Area Nursing Home on January 1, 1987. He resided there until his death.

Surviving is his wife, Rhea, a stepson, Lester Wedding of Strum, a sister, Phyllis Harrison of Eau Claire, two nieces and one nephew.

Services will be held Wednesday, August 16, 1989, at 1:30 p.m. at Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church, with burial in the Osseo Cemetery. Schiefelbein Funeral Home of Osseo was in charge of the arrangements.
