Ephraim F. Heidemann, a resident of this community for
forty-seven years, passed away at the Stanley hospital on Sunday, Sept. 10th,
death being caused by pleurisy. He had reached the age of 69 years, 3 months and
4 days. Mr. Heidemann underwent a major operation several years ago from which
he miraculously recovered, but his health failed during the past several months.
Ephraim Heidemann was born in Kiel, Wis., on June 6, 1881, where he attended the
local schools and spent his youth. He came to the Thorp community in the year
1907 and spent several years in Reseburg, where he operated a blacksmith shop
and also farmed. He later became engaged in the roofing business.
He was united in marriage on Oct. 14, 1905 to Ida Frese of Thorp (4 Apr 1879- 23
Feb 1953, aged 73). They moved to the village of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) 15
years ago.
Besides his widow he is survived by six sons, Norman of Milwaukee, Lyman of
Neillsville, Roland of Appleton, Donald at home, Elmer of Sheboygan and William
of Rockford, Ill.; two daughters, Tekla, Mrs. C. E. Anderson of Ellsworth, Wis.,
and Rita, Mrs. Vincent Wagener of Eau Claire; one brother, Otto Heidemann of
Kiel and one sister, Mrs. Arvin Schmidt of Kiel, and 22 grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Glick for the deceased at the Thorp
Funeral Home at 2:00 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 14th. Masonic services,
in charge of Thorp Lodge No. 264, F. & A. M., with Geo. Lane of Stanley as Grand
Master, were held at the Funeral Home and at the graveside. He was laid to rest
in the East Thorp Cemetery. Six sons served as pallbearers.

Mrs. Ephraim Heidemann, 73, passed away in her sleep at her home in this city (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.) some time during Monday night. She had not been ill.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon (Thursday) Feb. 26, at 2:00 o’clock at the Thorp Funeral Home Chapel.

Last rites were held at the Thorp Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26th, for Mrs. Ephraim Heidemann, 73, who passed away of a heart attack at her home here (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.) on Feb. 23, 1953. Rev. John Mason of Stanley officiated.
Ida Frese was born on April 4, 1879 at New Holstein, Wis. She moved to thorp with her parents at the age of 8 years and resided on the farm 1 ½ miles south of Thorp. She attended the local schools here and upon graduation taught in the Pozen, Goff, Pioneer and Globe schools.
On Oct. 13, 1905 she was untied in marriage to Ephraim F. Heidemann at Chippewa Falls, Wis. They moved to Kiel, Wis., and resided for three years before returning to thorp and locating in Reseburg, where Mr. Heidemann had a blacksmith shop. In 1928 they moved to a farm in Reseburg and in 1937 to the Village of Thorp, where Mr. Heidemann died in 1950 and she continued to reside until death.
The deceased is survived by six sons, Norman of Milwaukee, Roland of Appleton, Elmer of Sheboygan, William of Rockford, Ill., Lyman of Neillsville and Donald of Stanley; two daughters, Tekla, Mrs. Chas. Anderson of Ellsworth and Rita, Mrs. Vincent Wagener of Eau Claire; two brothers, Herman Frese of Gilman and Henry Frese of Thorp; two sisters, Annie, Mrs. John Rossman and Meta, Mrs. Art Seaman of Gilman; and twenty-seven grandchildren.
She was laid to rest in the East Thorp Cemetery. Her six sons served as pallbearers.
