Garrison Bros; awning was placed in position in front of their store last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Egbert Mead went to Eau Claire on Saturday last remaining over Sunday.

I.C. Gotchy, of Colby, employed with the R. R. bridge crew, was in the village over Sunday last.

Frank Garrison, of Centralia, spent Tuesday of this week with his brother, L.O. in this village.

Miss Mary Voelker, sister of Mrs. Kate Mertens went to her home at St. Anna, on Monday last.

Mrs. Daniel Allen, wife of the convicted murderer of Henry Wright, died at her home near Loyal last week.

Miss Mary Wagner, Wm. Diamond and Wm. Wilms of Colby, visited with the COURIER family a few hours on Sunday last.

Geo. Crothers returned from Big Springs, on Thursday of last week, and began teaching in the Burss district on Monday last.

Wm. Ogle and Mike Denney, while in the woods a few miles north of the village one day last week, ran across three wolves eating the carcass of a deer. Two the animals fled but the remaining one attacked "Billy" in a ferocious manner but was laid out by a couple of blows from a pick-axe which he was carrying and a few blows from a shovel in the hands of Mr. Denney. The animal was very large, weighing about 100 pounds. The hide was brought to the village on Monday last.
