Home on Furlough - Cpl. Melvin J. Roohr, 30, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Roohr of Pittsville, will leave on his return trip to the Panama Canal Zone Sunday, April 16, after having spent a 30-day furlough at home. He left for service on Aug. 7, 1941, and after five months of basic training in the United States was sent to Panama. He has volunteered for six months additional service there. Thirty-five guests were entertained at the Roohr home in his honor last Sunday.
