Local Man Gets Mention in Badger Quarterly The following article was taken from the Badger Quarterly and refers to *Jack Nikolay, who will receive his degree in law at the close of summer school at the University of Wisconsin in August. He will be associated in practice with his brother, Frank, already established here. When *John J. Nikolay, third year law student at the University of Wisconsin, hears people complain about all the work they have, he just laughs.
Law school wasn’t enough to keep Nikolay busy; so he took a job as clerk at the Capitol Tog Shop, working 35 hours a week.
But he had to have something to do in his spare time. The state capitol needed a guard from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. and Nikolay took the position. "After all," he said, "what’s an extra 63 hours of work every week?"
Clerking, guarding and classes took up only 110 of the 168 hours in the week, which left him 58 hours with nothing to do.
Nikolay utilized this time by finding a girl, courting her, and now the wedding date has been set for Aug. 12.
