Engelhard, George M. (30 DEC 1819 - 11 MAR 1897)

Died, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C.P. Mooers, in West Bend, Wis., on Thursday, March 11th, 1897, George M. Engelhard, in the 78th year of his age.

Mr. Engelhard was born at Ausburg, Bavaria, Dec. 30th, 1819; about the year 1850 he came with his wife and settled at Brooklyn, N.Y.; in 1857 the family came west and located at West Bend, where he lived to the day of his death one of the most respected citizens; Mrs. Engelhard died ten years ago last fall, since which time he has made his home with his daughter.

The funeral occurred at West Bend and was attended by all his children, which are: Mrs. L.E. Adams, Chicago; Mrs. W.G. Blackman, West Bend; Mrs. J.F. Sims, River Falls; G.P. Engelhard, Chicago; Mrs. R.B. Salter, Colby, Clark Co.; Miss Fermine Engelhard, Mrs. C/P. Mooers, West Bend; Sam L. Engelhard, Chicago.

After the funeral the brothers and sisters repaired to a photographer and sat for a group picture.
