Bruns, Margaretha (21 SEP 1826 - 22 MAR 1897)
Died, at the home of her son-in-law, Judge A.W. Pott, at Sheboygan, March 22nd, 1897, Mrs. Margaretha Bruns, in the 71st years of her age.
Margaretha Siemers was born at Hanover, Germany, Sept 21st, 1826; she came to America in the year 1846, locating at Cedarburg, where she was united in marriage with Albert Bruns and soon after moved with him to the town of Herman, Sheboygan Co.; her husband enlisted in the early part of the war and died in 1865, in West Virginia, his being the second or third monument place in the National Cemetery; after the death of her husband, she removed to the city of Sheboygan, where she resided to the time of her death; she leaves two sons, H.C. Bruns of this city (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.), and Chas. D. Bruns of Milwaukee, and two daughters, Mrs. Paul Weiland of Duluth, and Mrs. A.W. Pott of Sheboygan, to mourn her loss; the funeral occurred on the Thursday following, and the remains were interred in Wildwood Cemetery, Rev. J. Janett officiating.
