Herman Milke took his first breath in Jun, 1858 in Germany. In 1870, he immigrated to the United States. In 1900, he owned his home in Colby, Clark, Wisconsin to peruse his love of agriculture. He was able to read, write and speak English which made his adjustment to his new country much eaiser. Nine years later, he married his wife, Minnie, who was also born in Germany. Their children were: Herman Mihlhe, Minnie Mihlhe, Charles Mihlhe, Gusta Mihlhe, Herman Mihlhe, Fredie Mihlhe E. and Lawrence Mihlhe.

Mrs. Esther R. Wells BLACKFOOT--Mrs.. Esther Rosin Wells, 69, resident of Blackfoot since 1924, died early Tuesday at the family home of 294 South Spruce of complications following surgery for cancer. Mrs. Wells was born Jan. 7, 1894, in Colby, Wis. She received her elementary and college education in Wisconsin and taught school there. She was married to George Wells. They lived in Rockland prior to moving to Blackfoot in 1924. She was a member of the Jason Lee Memorial Methodist Church and a Superintendent of the Junior Department of the Sunday School. She is survived by two sons and one daughter: Calvin G. Wells, Boise; Willis R. Wells, Blackfoot; and Mrs. James (Henrietta) Cuoio, Pocatello; three granddaughters; and two sisters: Mrs. Hortense Brehm and Annie. Funeral services have been set for Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Jason Lee Memorial Methodist Church, with Rev. Rex O. Lindemood Officiating. Burial will be in the Grove City Cemetery, under the direction of Sandberg - Hill Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home until service time.

Herman Mihlke was born 6 May 1890 in Colby, Clark County, Wisconsin. He was the son of Herman (1858-1937) and Wilhelmine Hooverjack Mihlke (1858-1933). His wife was Mable Smith Mihlke (1 Jan 1890, Oregon-28 Dec 1955 @ aged 65) . Herman died when he was seventy-four, he died in Plummer, Benewah County, Idaho,12 Oct 1964 and was buried in the Marshall Cemetery, Spokane, Spokane County, Washington.
Herman Mihlke is now at work on his meat market building and proposes to rush it to completion. Colby Phonograph, 24 Sep 1896.
