Brotherton, Jane M. (? - 15 FEB 1898)
Died, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. N.E. Butler, Walla Walla, Washington, on Feb. 15th, 1898, Mrs. Jane M. Brotherton, formerly a resident of the town of Hull, Marathon Co., Wis.
Mrs. Brotherton had been quite well for the past year and had not been sick in bed one whole day before the day of her death. She sat up to eat her breakfast the morning before she died, and again at noon to eat her dinner, but at about two o’clock she said to her daughter, "Ella I guess I will lie down a little while." She was helped to the bed, where she reclined peacefully till about five o’clock when she fell into a sleep from which she never awakened in this world. A peaceful happy look came over her face and we know she is at her last home where she will find her loved ones that had gone on before.
She leaves to mourn her loss, two sons, Richard W. of Hull, Wis., and Ancil C. of Vansycle, Ore., and two daughters, Mrs. Jenny Holliway and Mrs. Ella A. Butler, both of Walla Walla, Wash. Beside a great number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many loving friends.
