Grabig Lizzie (14 JAN 1879 - 13 MAY 1898)
Died, at Minneapolis, on Friday, May 13th, 1898, of consumption, Lizzie, wife of George Grabig of Ramsay, Mich.
Lizzie Harrer was born Jan. 14th, 1879 on the farm still occupied by her father, Lawrence Harrer, on section six, town of Frankfort, Marathon Co., Wis., and there her childhood was spent. In the year 1895 she went to seek employment as a domestic in the iron country of northern Michigan, where she met with Mr. Grabig, and they were united in marriage, June 21, 1896, and made their home at Ramsay, Mich. Some little time ago her health began to fail and she was brought here with the hope that the change to her old home would prove beneficial, but it was of no avail, the decline continued. On May 3rd she was taken by her husband to a hospital, where everything was done for her that money and the best skill could provide, but yet the decline continued until she peacefully passed away last Friday morning, at two o’clock. The remains were brought to this place Sunday, and the funeral occurred at the M. E. Church, Monday, Rev. S. A. Hoffman officiating. The interment was in Colby Cemetery.
