Knecht, Adolph (13 AUG 1854 - 2 JUN 1898)
Adolph Knecht, who death we mentioned last week, was born at Newark, N.J., August 13th, 1854. For a number of years he lived at Onalaska, Wis., until he came to Curtiss, Clark Co., Wis., about ten years ago, since when he made his home with his sister, Mrs. Emma Bass, where he died Thursday, June 2nd, 1898.
Adolph had been sick with pulmonary tuberculosis for about nine months and during that time received every care that the hands of a loving sister could bestow, and that the attending physician, Dr. C. S. Nielsen, could suggest.
He was a man of genial and pleasant disposition and made friends of all whith whom he came in contact, and many friends regret his death.
He was an honored member of Curtiss Camp, No 4920, M.W.A. of Teutonia Lodge, No 3, A.O.U.W., and of the Sons of Herman, his membership with the last two orders, being at La Crosse.
The funeral occurred at the church in Curtiss, and the interment in Colby Cemetery, Rev. Geo. Reichert of Chippewa Falls, officiating.
The sincere thanks of the relatives are extended to the members of the M.W.A., for their kind assistance during the last few weeks of his sickness and at the funeral, to the friends and neighbors, who assisted, and to the choir of Colby.
