Clark, Nathan (? - 2 FEB 1899)
Nathan Clark, of Onalaska, Wis., formerly of the firm of Bass & Clark, Curtiss, Clark Co., Wis., died at his home in Onalaska, Thursday, Feb. 2nd, and the funeral occurred on the 5th, largely attended.
Mr. Clark came into the lumber woods of Clark County more than thirty years ago, his parents then living at New Amsterdam, La Crosse Co. In 1879 or 80 he entered into the lumber business with A.D. Bass under the firm name of Bass & Clark; April 8th, 1880, he was united in marriage with Miss Adelina, daughter of C.E. Cummings of the town of Colby, who died a few years later, leaving one son, who is now bereft of his father. In 1885 he was again united in marriage with Miss Philena, daughter of H.J. Collier of the town of Hoard, Clark Co., who, with two daughters and her stepson, mourn the loss of a kind husband and an indulgent father.
Nate Clark was a big hearted, splendid fellow and had hosts of friends in this county who will regret his death and sympathies with the widow and the fatherless.
