Wachsmuth, Carl Herman (5 Sept. 1982 - 1953)

Curtiss - Funeral services for Carl Herman Wachsmuth, 62, route 2, Owen, who died Friday evening at his home, will be held Tuesday afternoon at the Griebenow Funeral Home, Owen, Wis. Harold Miller, Withee, will have charge of the services. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery.

Death was due to a lingering illness resulting from cancer.

Mr. Wachsmuth, a former owner of the Atwood Store, was born Sept. 5, 1892, in Curtiss, Wis. He lived in Glidden for 18 years and when he retired four years ago moved to the present home. On Feb. 22, 1918, he was married to Helen Ammerich at Merrill.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, Victor Wachsmuth, Merrill, Wallace and Leonard, Wachsmuth, Wausau, and Jerold Wachsmuth, U. S. Navy, Great Lakes; three daughters, Mrs. John (Mildred) Wieter and Mrs. Charles (Doris) Bowen, Chicago, and Karen Wachsmuth, at home; five brothers, Edwin, Minneapolis, Albert, Alabama, Hugo, Oconomowoe, Emil, Gilman, and Leo, Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. William (Ida) Jakel, Dorchester, and Mrs. Nora Eribe, Lake Geneva; and six grandchildren.

Three brothers preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the Griebenow Funeral Home in Owen, where the body is lying in state.
