Matthias Oberbillig, one of the oldest residents of this village (Dorchester, Clark County, Wis.), died at his home here at 7 o'clock Thursday morning at the age of 76 years. He had been seriously ill for the past two weeks with kidney trouble, which caused his death.
He was born in Germany and was a veteran of the Civil War, having served in the 28th Infantry of Wisconsin.
He leaves to mourn his death a wife, three sons and two daughters. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon from the St. Louis Catholic Church.
