Olsen, Louis (? - 12 NOV 1910)
Louis Olsen, city clerk of Abbotsford, Wis., was shot and almost instantly killed while hunting deer at Mellen Saturday. Olsen wore a red coat and red cap and was standing in the open roadway at the time he was killed. He saw a man aiming at him and he threw up his hands and called out but the other hunter fired and ran away. The ball pierced Olsen's lungs, but he was able to call his companions, who were some distance away before he died, and related his account of the shooting. The sheriff is on the trail of the man who fired the shot with bloodhounds.
The funeral was held Thursday, the remains being buried at the Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery in this village (Dorchester, Clark County, Wis.)
