Tesmer, John (4 APR 1829 - 19 FEB 1901)
John Tesmer, whose death we mentioned last week, was born April 4th, 1829, at Vandsburg, Province of West Preussen, Germany; he was united in marriage with Wilhelmine Rosunke, in 1855; there was born to them in Germany, 5 children, Wilhelm, Gottlieb, Auguste, Edward and Wilhelmine; in 1868 the family came to America, locating in Dodge Co., Wis., and in 1876 they came to the town of Colby, Clark Co., Wis. Since coming to America there were 6 children born to them, August, Carl, Bertha, Caroline, Herman and Emilie, all of whom, with the wife, survive him. He died Tuesday, Feb. 19th, 1901, at the home of his son Gottlieb in this city, and the funeral was held from Zion’s Church, Friday forenoon, Rev. A. Kuring officiating.
