Virgil Albert Seefeld, 74, Spencer, died Monday, Nov. 21, at his home. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Spencer, The Rev. Rebekah Tarras officiated. Burial was in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Virgil Albert Seefeld was born March 11, 1931, in the town of Unity, to Albert and Elsie (nee Hendrickson) Seefeld. He graduated from Spencer High School in 1949. He married Gloria Rindfliesch on Sept. 6, 1958, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer He worked for the St. Croix Fish Pole Company before he was called to serve in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge, he worked for Dairy Belt Cheese and Butter for 8 ½ years after which he decided to farm full time on the family farm, which has been in his family fir more than 100 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and telling jokes. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 385, Unity.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria, Spencer, his children, Greg Seefeld, Neenah, and Cindy Gaetz, Loyal; his grandchildren, Melissa Gaetz, Travis Gaetz, Evan Gaetz, and Staci Seefeld.

Preceding him in death were his parents and an infant sister.

Maurina/Community Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
