Vine, Frieda (22 FEB 1916 - 3 DEC 2005)

Frieda Vine, 89, Granton, entered eternal peace on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, at her residence on Timber Lane Road. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, Wis. The Rev. Wendell Williams officiated. Music was provided by Charlotte Drescher, organist. Interment was in the town of Grant Cemetery. Honorary casket bearers were her granddaughters, Teresa, Jolene, Jerilyn, Denise, Sherry, Lisa, Lesley, Lori Louann, Lisa, Sherri, Julie and Carrie. Casket bearers were Michael Vine, Ben Vine, Bryan Vine, Brandon Vine, Bradlee Vine, Jamie Vine Bruce Vine Damon Vine, Bradley Rowe, Steven Rowe, Craig Roehl and Jason Herman.

Frieda Agustia Hillert was born on Feb. 22, 1916, in Grant Township, Clark County, to Fredrick and Barbara (nee Frei) Hillert. She grew up in Fremont Township and attended the Cozy Corner and Franklin schools. When she was young, her mother died so after finishing her schooling, she raised her siblings and did much of the housework. On Sept. 3, 1941 she married Irvind Vine in Neillsville, Wis. They moved to Grant Township, where they farmed and raised their family. Irving died on Dec. 28, 1980. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Homemaker’s Club. She took over for her husband on the Wild Rose School Board and served as its treasurer, and she was a member of the United Methodist Church. She taught herself needlework and had made numerous quilts and displays for the fair. She was known for her sense of wit and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include six children, Fern (Donald) Rowe, Granton, Robert (Diane) Vine, Marshfield, Dale ( Donna) Vine, Granton, Harold (Kathy) Vine, Granton, Kenneth (Beverly) Vine, Granton, and Ronald (Dianne) Vine, Granton; and "adopted daughter," Sharon (Randy) Hendickson, Neillsville; 25 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Walter Hillert, Sheldon, and Harold (Lillian Long) Hillert, Granton.

Preceding her in death were her husband; her parents; a sister, Velda; and three grandsons, Gary, Dale, Jr., and Billy.

Gesche Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
