Witte, Richard H. (2 Feb. 1886 - 1962)
Colby - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Green Grove for Richard H. Witte, 76, who died at 8:20 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. The Rev. Howard Timmerman will officiate and burial will be made in the parish cemetery.
The body will repose at the Lulloff Funeral Home beginning this evening.
Mr. Witte was born Feb. 2, 1886 in Manitowoc County and received his education in schools there. He moved to Clark County with his parents when he was 15 years old and had farmed in the town of Colby until his recent illness.
He was married at Neillsville in June of 1922 to the former Bernice Roohr. Mr. Witte was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Green Grove.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. George (Beulah) Foelsch, Moberley, Mo.; three sons, Richard and Hubert, Colby, and Wilbur, Vesper; 15 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Marath Horner, Owen, Wis.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, two sisters and a brother.
