Spencer - Mrs. Ralph Scheel, 48, a resident of this community, was killed instantly, and her husband suffered head and facial injuries shortly after midnight Saturday when the auto in which they were returning from Colby went out of control at a curve on Highway 13 and plunged more than 200 feet into a field.

Her husband is being treated in St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield where his condition today was described as "good."

Her body was only inches from the wrecked car. Her husband also had been thrown to the rear section of the car, but remained inside the vehicle.
