Schuette, Constance Mae (Marriage - ?)
Delbert Schuette and John Uhlig ushered wedding guests into St. Luke’s Lutheran Church of South Green Grove, Unity, to witness the marriage of Miss Constance May Schuette of Racine and Gerald William Uhlig of Kenosha.
Parents of the bridal pair are Mr. and Mrs. Walter J. Schuette, Unity, and Mr. and Mrs. William Uhlig, Colby.
The nuptials were performed Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock by the Rev. Howard A. Timmerman, the church altar being decorated with white and lilac chrysanthemums for the occasion.
"The Lord’s Prayer" and "We Are Ever Walking with Jesus" were sung during the ceremony by Miss LuAnn Doehr, Miss Becky Will playing organ accompaniment.
White Chantilly - type lace and tulle were used to fashion the bridal gown, which was styled with fitted basque and full tiered skirt. The imported illusion veil was secured to a double crown of rock crystal, highlighted with iridescent sequins and seed pearls. Red roses and white stephanotis fashioned the bridal bouquet.
Miss Kathy Uhlig, Milwaukee, was maid of honor and Miss Diana Walter, Loyal, and Miss Marie Uhlig, Milwaukee, served as bridesmaids. The aids, carrying bouquets of white and lilac carnations, were seen in frocks of lilac chiffon over taffeta made with draped bodices, flowing back panels and fitted cummerbunds trimmed with rhinestone - studded flowers. Feather clips served as headpieces.
Eldred Schuette, Unity, performed the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Charles Uhlig, Racine, and Roger Molle, Loyal.
The bride’s parents’ home was the setting for the wedding reception; the supper was served in the Loyal Lutheran Church and that evening there was a wedding dance at the Silver Dome Ballroom.
Mrs. Uhlig, a 1960 graduate of Loyal High School, has been employed by Western Printing and Lithographing Co., Racine. Her husband, who was graduated in 1953 from Colby, Wis. High School, is employed by American Motors, Kenosha, where the newlyweds will reside.
