Meinholdt, Martha (21 Oct. 1882 - 1965)

Greenwood - Mrs. Martha Meinhodt, 82, Greenwood, died at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield where she had been a patient for 10 days following a heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel United Church of Christ here. The Rev. Orval Egbert will officiate and burial will be made in the West Side Cemetery here.

The body will repose at the Hill Funeral Home here from Friday afternoon until 11 a.m. Saturday, and then at the Church.

The former Martha Marquardt was born Oct. 21, 1882, in the town of Green Grove. Her marriage to Gustav Meinholdt, who preceded her in death Aug. 21, 1927, took place May 14, 1913.

After their marriage, they farmed near Greenwood until the death of Mr. Meinholdt. Since then Mrs. Meinholdt had made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Liebzeit at Greenwood.

She was a member of the Women’s Guild of Immanuel United Church of Christ at Greenwood.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Merecedes) Liebzeit, and Mrs. Frank (Arlene) Peroshek, Greenwood; a foster daughter, Mrs. Samuel (Doris Marquardt) Scardino, Chicago; four brothers, Frank and Benjamin, Colby; Herman, Chicago; Fred, Abbotsford; two sisters, Mrs. J. C. Hill, Chicago; and Mrs. George Tesmer, Colby; nine grandchildren and four great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
