Baum, Gustave (3 Oct. 1890 - 1968)
Owen - Services for Gustave Baum, 78, who died Tuesday, were conducted at 2 p.m. today (Friday) at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home here. The Rev. Albert Shipelbaum, Chicago, officiated, and burial will be made in the Riverside Cemetery at Withee.
Pallbearers were Clarence Pyatt, Walter Hake, Ed Fredrick, Julius Rohland, Peter Kalita and Paul Scymcak. Herman Clobbin was an honorary pallbearer.
Mr. Baun was born Oct. 3, 1890, in Poland, and in 1908 came to the United States and settled in Chicago. His marriage to Anna Lankheim took place in 1910 in Chicago.
In 1914, the couple came to Withee, later returned to Chicago until 1919, when they came to the town of Hixton where they farmed for 40 years.
In addition to his wife, survivors are three sons, Edward, route 1, Withee; Arnold, Hyleah, Fla.; and Elmer. East St. Louis, Ill.; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchilren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, in infancy; and two sons.
