Brewer, Richard (30 JUN 1824 - 17 APR 1903)
Died, Richard Brewer, at his home in the town of Hull, Marathon Co., Wis., Friday, April 17th, 1903, aged 78 years, 9 months and 13 days.
Richard Brewer was born at Tompkins, Delaware, Co., N.Y., June 30th, 1824. On March 30th, 1853, he was united in marriage with Emeline Pickering at Nicholson, Pa., their union being blessed with six daughters, five of whom are living, Mrs. Samantha Bowell of Gibson, Pa., Mrs. Hulda Decker of Pollock, Dakota, Mrs. Hattie Healy, South Superior, Wis., Mrs. Dora Denney, Athens, Wis., and Mrs. George Hull of the town of Hull. He leaves behind his beloved wife whose companion he has been for fifty years, twenty-four grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Brewer was one of the old settlers of this country, having come here about twenty-five years ago when it was but wilderness and during which time they have lived in the town of Hull. He was a kindly, old gentleman much loved by many friends who extend their sympathy to those left behind.
The funeral was held Sunday afternoon, April 19th conducted by Rev. W.M. Philpott and the remains laid at rest in the Colby, Clark Co., Wis. Cemetery
