Peter Heid, who has been suffering from cancer of the stomach several months, died late Saturday afternoon. The immediate cause of his death was a hemorrhage.
The decedent had been a resident of the city for nearly 36 years. He was born in Preist, Germany, Sixty-three years ago and came to this country at the age of 27, locating in this city, where he resided almost continuously up to the time of his death.
Mr. Heid had been engaged in the grain business the greater part of his life. He was very successful in his dealing and was always honest and upright. At the time of his death he was at the head of the firm of Peter Heid & Co., of Colby, Clark Co., Wis.
Peter Heid is survived by a widow and the children, Hilda, Theodore and Elsie, all of whom are at home. The funeral will be held from St. Joseph’s church tomorrow morning at 9 o’clock.
Among those who have arrived in the city to attend the funeral are Ernest and John Heid, Mrs. Anton Schaller, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Schmidt, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. James Lyons, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Leimer, Princeton.
