Mueller, Catherine (11 FEB 1853 - 22 JUL 1903)
Mrs. Catherine Mueller died at her home in this city (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.) July 22nd, 1903, of inflammation of liver and bowels, at the age of 50 years.
Catherine Cappel was born at Julien, Bavaria, Feb. 11th, 1853. In 1874 she was united in marriage with Jacob Jung and four children were born to them three of whom are still living: Mrs. Caroline Bodtke and Louis Jung at Edgar and Mrs. Catherine Hopp of this city. In 1882 her husband died and one year later she came to America, living a short time in Illinois before coming to Colby. She was married to Mr. Mueller in 1886 and to this union four children were born, three of whom, Lydia, Otto and Hilda were living with their mother. In 1891 Mr. Mueller went away in quest of work, from which journey he never returned. His fate is unknown and he has been mourned as dead.
For a number of years the deceased has been in poor health, and about a month ago was taken with the severe illness of which she died. Besides her children she leaves four brothers, two sisters and an aged father, all of whom have many sympathizing friends. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon from St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, conducted by Rev. E. Herrmann, and the remains laid in Colby Cemetery.
