Farnsworth, George A. (1872 - 31 OCT 1903)

The funeral of George Arthur Farnsworth, who died at the age of 31 at his home, 3115 Eleventh Av. S., Saturday, Oct. 31, 1903, of cerebro spinal meningitis, took place Monday at 2:30 p.m. from his late residence. It was largely attended by relatives, friends and members of the Minneapolis Pressmen’s Union No. 20, of which Mr. Farnsworth was a member. Beautiful floral tributes were sent by the union, by the Journal employees, and by friends and neighbors. Rev. Stanley B. Roberts of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, of which Mr. Farnsworth was a member, conducted the services.

Mr. Farnsworth was born in Londonderry, Windham Co., Vt. He came to Minneapolis in 1890 and had been with the Minneapolis Journal since 1895. He married Effie Prosser, July 30, 1896. He leaves, besides his wife and little son, his mother, Mrs. Abbie S. Farnsworth; a sister, Mrs. Ezra F. Walker, and a brother, Raymond B. Farnsworth, all of whom, except his wife and son, reside in Merriam Park. (Minneapolis Journal)

George is well known here (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.) and we all sympathize with the relatives in their bereavement.

Mrs. John Prosser and son Walter went to Minneapolis to attend the funeral.
