Firnstahl, Deborah L. (Marriage - 10 Aug. 1974)

During a 1:30 p.m. ceremony Saturday, Aug. 10, Miss Deborah L. Firnstahl and Warren M. Ayer repeated their wedding promises before the Rev. Francis P. Rushman in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James S. Firnstahl, Colby was given in marriage by her father to the son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin W. Ayer, Unity, while Miss Kim Hedler played the organ music and Mrs. James Dallmann sang.

For her day the bride selected an empire gown with lace bodice and cathedral train of ala mode and venise lace. Her two-tiered veil of illusion fell from a headpiece of Venice lace and her cascade bouquet was composed of white roses and baby’s breath.

Mrs. Wayne Radtke, Rothschild, was matron of honor, and Mrs. Michael Clark, Onalaska, and Miss Marie Tervi and Miss Joanne Kriha, both of Wausau, were bridesmaids. Their gowns of georgette were in the rainbow hues, and their colonial bouquets were of matching pompon daisies.

Wayne Radtke, Rothschild, served as best man, and James H. Firnstahl, Colby, Robert Ayer, Beloit, and Douglas Ayer, Unity, were groomsmen. Brad Ayer of Colby and Miss Kerry Firnstahl of Colby seated the guest for the ceremony which was followed by a reception and dance at Unity Hall and a dinner in the church hall.

Mr. and Mrs. Ayer are both graduates of Colby, Wis. High School. Mr. Ayer is a sale service correspondent for Packaging Corporation of American in Appleton, where the newlyweds will make their home at 1339 W. College Ave. His wife had been employed at Employers Insurance in Wausau.
